Doctor's office story

We took Kaylee to the doctor yesterday for her 18-month checkup. She got cranky at the office and here is a little conversation we all had.

Will: "Kaylee! High five!"
Kaylee: "No."
Me: "Come sit on my lap!"
Kaylee: "No."
Me: "Don't somersault into the chair!"
Kaylee: "No."
(This went on for a little while...)
Will: "You're very contradictory right now."
Kaylee: "Good."

Big changes

Before:

This picture does not do it justice. You can't see the stalactites on the ceiling, and the stains on the floor, and the light looks decent, so really, you have no idea unless you saw it in person. It was super, super ugly.

 After moving in:

It was okay. It worked as a living room. It just wasn't...nice. At all.

Now:

Sorry the pictures are all different angles, but I'm really bad at matching. Especially if I'm not trying. But isn't it so warm and homey looking now? It's actually a place we like to be now. :) We're still missing the floor boards, but we'll try to get that done over spring break next week.

We absolutely love the new couches! We were not planning on getting blue, because, obviously, our walls are blue. In fact, we went to the store and fell in love with some gray ones, but when we went back to get them, we found these and liked them even better. I wasn't sure at first if it would work, but as soon as we got them in and set up, I fell in love. We're probably going to keep rearranging, and I really want a bookshelf, but for now, this is what we've got.

We're also missing things on the wall, in case you didn't notice how blank it looks. I did this because I am still trying to decide what I want to do with it. I kind of like the idea of doing a trio of artsy yellow photographs above the love seat. Yellow as in, the main focus of the picture is yellow, like daffodils or something. I'm not positive about it though. I'll have to experiment a bit to see what looks good. Maybe just one big picture, rather than a trio. Maybe yellow wouldn't be the best color. *sigh* What do you think? Any opinions??
